Unduk Ngadau (beauty pageant) at Wisma Merdeka

"Unduk Ngadau is a beauty pageant held during Kaamatan in Sabah, Malaysia.
The Unduk Ngadau, or Harvest Festival queen, symbolizes Huminodun, the sacrificed daughter of Kinorohingan.
The pageant was formerly known as Miss Kadazan (1960-1970), Miss Harvest Festival (1971-1980), Ratu Kaamatan (1981-1990). The current Unduk Ngadau title has been in place since 1991."

BTW, this is not an essay about Unduk Ngadau. :D Saw an advertisement from Daily Express on May 8, 09, about WISMA MERDEKA UNDUK NGADAU CONTEST, and this pix:

The text reads:

Ms Clarice Tony Winner of
Wisma Merdeka Unduk Ngadau 2007
(The actual year Ms Tony won was 2006.
She herself affirms it. Thanks Clarice!)

Asked Ms Clarice Cassandra Tony if it was her, said she was. And I was like, "Wow! I 'know' a beauty pageant!" :D Here is the link to her [post]. And here the colour pix of her.

Alang-alang post about this already. Why don't I just reproduce the whole ad. :D

Hi KY Chua, where you are, Sarawak...you sure have your fair share of beautiful women there.
They're simply exotic.
I used to travel to KK, Sibu, Kuching, Bintulu and meeting, or seeing Bidayus, Orang Ulus, Kadazans, etc....they sure took my breath away.
Must be the clean air, the huge jungle in the background, the clean waters, I guess.

By the way, what about your genes? You don't look Chinese, with your ahemmm, handsome features.
Bet you married a Sarawak beauty, huh? Ha ha.

Have a nice day, oh ya Chua, I would be very happy you address me just as 'Lee'....'uncle' for those below 19, ha ha.
You have a nice day, Lee.

Ibankiih, hahaha. BTW, you type sister in-LOW, typo? Never mind that, jesting only. ;)

Ah, another one I know who know another beauty pageant. ;)

Mr Lee! :D Can't help addressing you that. ;) Lee then, as you request. :D

Lee, I am from SABAH. I have mixed genes - Chinese & Dusun. BTW, the tanned look was "inherited" from playing too long under the sun when I was younger. :D

Psst, "my beauty" is from SABAH. ;)

You have a nice day too.
